As part of this initiative, we hosted a product briefing and workshop in Taiwan, inviting architects, painting contractors, and other professionals involved in the construction industry.
The briefing focused on the Ultratect Series (ULTRATECTR WS, CR, and CA+3), while the workshop highlighted ULTRATECTR®CERAMAT, a water based silicate coating material.

Awareness of Maintenance Costs in Taiwan

Taiwan is surrounded by the sea. In areas with strong sea breezes, salt particles are carried by the wind and adhere to buildings.
When it rains, the salts dissolve and penetrate deeper into the structures.

This process poses a serious risk particularly to reinforced concrete structures, as corrosion of the reinforcing steel can significantly weaken their structural integrity.
In addition, the salts in the atmosphere tend to accumulate in building materials, and their effects are especially pronounced in cracks.

For this reason, regular inspections and preventive maintenance are considered essential in Taiwan, and salt damage countermeasures are often incorporated at the design stage of a structure.

To address salt damage, Taiwan has implemented various protective strategies for buildings.

These include the use of salt-resistant coatings, penetrating water-repellent and waterproofing treatments, and well-designed drainage systems.
Material selection also emphasizes advanced cement technologies, high-performance waterproofing materials, and components resistant to salt exposure.
